Binghamton wrestling split its two matches Sunday at the Boston
University Duals. The Bearcats (2-7) beat Brown 23-17 before losing to
Harvard 22-15. Deuel, Reed and White all win twice.
Against the Bears, BU won five bouts with the final win - a pin by junior heavyweight Tyler Deuel
- giving the Bearcats the decisive margin. The teams split 10 matches
but Binghamton got a forfeit win, a technical fall by junior 125-pound David White and then the third-period pin by Deuel, who went 3-0 in the weekend matches to raise his overall record to 18-5, 7-2 in duals.
Binghamton then fell just short against Harvard after winning four of
the 10 matches. After receiving a forfeit win at 125, BU dropped six
straight matches before finishing with three straight decisions to
tighten the final margin. Senior 197-pound Cody Reed completed a 2-0 day with a 6-4 decision and Deuel posted a 5-2 win.
With his 3-0 weekend, White improved to 16-6 overall. Binghamton next faces Penn and Drexel on Friday and Sunday, respectively, in Philadelphia.
