Binghamton Open: Bearcats capture 3 first-place titles


The Binghamton Open tournament on November 11, 2012 brought a full house of fans, over 15 teams, and 300+ wrestlers from the northeast into Binghamton University's West Gym.  Wrestling took place on seven mats from 9 AM up to early evening.  Binghamton had three wrestlers to make it to the finals, and all three persevered and came out with a win.

Joe Bonaldi at 141 lbs went 5-0 in the tournament, ultimately beating Joe Stanzione of Cornell 6-4 in his final match.  Donnie Vinson at 149 lbs went 5-0 in the tournament, beating out Mac Maldarelli of Lock Haven 17-3 in the final.  Nate Schiedel at 197 lbs went 4-0 in the tournament, with his final win at the score 5-2 against Micah Burak (All-American, ranked #5) of Penn.  

Sophomore heavyweight Tyler Deuel finished in 4th place, going 3-2 in the tournament overall.
