Despite the loss against Old Dominion on Friday, Donnie Vinson set a school record after his first-period pin against Brennan Brumley. Donnie Vinson, gaining his 124th victory, now holds the school's record for most career wins.
Vinson's overall record is 124-15. He remains unbeaten in dual matches this season (15-0) and is 25-1 overall. He is ranked No.5 in the latest InterMat poll, is 69-8 in career duals and is positioned at No.3 in the first NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings.
“Donnie becoming Binghamton Wrestling’s all time wins leader is quite a significant accomplishment,” head coach Matt Dernlan said. “To attain an achievement of this level, speaks to his ability early on in his career to beat the best in the country and sustain that level throughout the duration of his career. More important that his win total, we are very proud of how he has represented Binghamton with class and dignity, while wearing the Green and Black. I know this moment means a lot to him, personally, but his focus now is to finish his career, by chasing down his ultimate goals in March.”
